Nicolasa López is a dedicated community leader committed to creating safe, nurturing, and resource-rich environments for students, families, and individuals. She describes her extensive career as a true “labor of love,” grounded in a deep belief in humanity’s inherent goodness and our collective capacity for progress.
Nicolasa currently teaches Adult Spanish Literacy to Latino families who never had the opportunity or privilege to attend school or whose education was interrupted. Her work restores dignity, expands access, and opens pathways for adults who have long been excluded from traditional learning spaces.
Beyond the classroom, Nicolasa shares her expertise through volunteer roles with organizations such as the ACLU and FriendshipWorks, and she serves on key advisory bodies including the City of Boston Family Advisory Council.
A recent graduate of the Social Impact Management & Leadership program at the Institute for Non-Profit Practice, she is devoted to advancing an educational transformation that unleashes every learner’s potential. She champions equitable policies for children of color and remains firm in her belief that, while progress has been made, the pursuit of full equity is ongoing and essential.
