“Every time a parent learns a new skill or feels more confident, a child benefits. That’s why I’m so proud to be a part of Families First.”

Maureen is a developmental psychologist whose passions include child development, parenting education, and family support. In her 25-year career, she has worked in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors to promote strong parent-child relationships. To that end, she co-directed the Brazelton Touchpoints Center at Children’s Hospital of Boston, has consulted with numerous juvenile product companies, and is the author of four parenting books.
Maureen has also written widely on parenting topics for parenting publications and has extensive media experience in radio and television. She holds degrees in Psychology/Child Development from Brown University (BA, 1983), Temple University (MA, 1985), and the University of Minnesota (PhD, 1991).
She serves on the Technical Advisory Board of BabySparks and volunteers for cancer support programs in Massachusetts. Maureen is the proud parent of adult twin sons, who are the truest measure of her parenting expertise.
