“Families First uplifts families and so many communities. I am proud to be a part of an organization that empowers people and enhances these connections.”
Rachel joined the Families First staff in July 2018. She is working as a VISTA AmeriCorps member as the Parent Leadership Initiative Coordinator. As a capacity builder, Rachel develops and manages resources for parents through the new Parent Leadership Initiative program.
Prior to joining Families First, Rachel volunteered to support low-income youth in the greater Boston area. Working with these students for several years, she recognized the community that strong relationships create. Rachel is passionate about creating deep relationships to ensure that families receive necessary support. Parent-child relationships are unique, as they strengthen one’s family and community. She works with parent leaders to understand and support their needs.
Rachel graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus on social inequalities. She serves on the Multiracial Association discussion team, leads hikes, and bikes.
