Marissa joined Families First in July 2018 after working as a program coordinator for Massachusetts Citizens for Children. She has always been passionate about promoting healthy childhoods and reducing adverse childhood experiences. Prior to coming to Massachusetts, Marissa completed a yearlong internship with Prevent Child Abuse Vermont where she coordinated parenting programs across four northwest counties.
As an Area Manager, Marissa is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Power of Parenting programs in the Greater Boston Area.
Marissa is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she earned a Masters of Education in Human Development and Psychology with a specialization in Child Advocacy. While at Harvard, Marissa was awarded a Certificate of Child Protection through the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights. She has also earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Vermont.
