Courtney joined Families First in July 2019 as the Development & Communications Associate and transitioned into her role as Marketing & Grants Coordinator in April 2020. Bringing her previous experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, and marketing, Courtney is responsible for broadening the visibility of Families First’s work, shaping the organization’s messaging, and leading the organization’s efforts to share the impact of the Power of Parenting program with external audiences.
She received a Master of Arts in Global Development Policy at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. Her studies focused on sustainability, policy, and equity issues within the world food system, specifically highlighting the gap between development policy and grassroots efforts to create a more just food system. Previously, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
