Courtney joined Families First in July 2019 as the Development & Communications Associate and is now the Marketing & Grants Manager. Bringing her previous experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, and marketing, Courtney is responsible for broadening the visibility of Families First’s work, shaping the organization’s messaging, and leading the organization’s efforts to share the impact of Families First’s Power of Parenting and Parent Leadership programs with external audiences.
She received a Master of Arts in Global Development Policy at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. Her studies focused on sustainability, policy, and equity issues within the world food system, specifically highlighting the gap between development policy and grassroots efforts to create a more just food system. Previously, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
