Community Partnerships

Families First’s programs are delivered in tight collaboration with partner organizations that share our mission of strengthening families and have strong connections to parents.

We meet parents where they are! Our parenting education programs are delivered in either English or Spanish at partner sites in neighborhoods throughout Greater Boston. Partner sites can include childcare centers, housing developments, health centers, and other neighborhood-based sites.

With this approach, we reach parents in an environment that is comfortable and familiar—while enabling them to come together with peers in their community.

There are many benefits for partners, as our programs:

  • Improve outcomes for the families they serve
  • Address challenges around family engagement
  • Increase our collective impact by sharing evaluation data

Families First offers each partner up to six months of parent engagement and outreach support per program. We organize an Action Team that includes Families First staff, partner staff, and parent leaders to recruit and retain parents—ensuring that each and every program is a success. Our relationships with partners are deep and long-lasting.

Frank Shea, CEO of Urban Edge, describes the results he has seen in his community:
