Families First hosted our 16th annual Breakfast Benefit on Friday, October 20, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This annual event raised a record-breaking total of $165,000 to support our parenting education programs in under-resourced Boston neighborhoods.
This year the event drew a crowd of 230 community and business leaders, educators and experts in the fields of parenting and child development, and parent alumni whose lives have been transformed by our programs.
Ron Ferguson PhD of Boston Basics, a key Families First partner, spoke about the value in collaborating to support parents during the early years:
“I want to say what a thrill it is to be in partnership now with Families First in trying to spread the word about how important those first three or four years in life are… and because we work together, we can make a huge difference during that period.”
Later, Families First board member and Breakfast Committee Co-Chair Ariel Cudkowicz addressed the crowd and explained:
“The Families First Breakfast, this organization, and the parents—like the ones you heard from today—gave me inspiration and strength when I needed it the most. Indeed, the power of this Breakfast, and the many stories of perseverance and success, is what brought me to Families First.”
