Accomplishments and Achievements
Families First’s recent accomplishments include:

Significant development of new and revised curricula in the areas of emotions and emotional intelligence; teen-specific issues looking at risky behavior, body image, and communication; impact of violence work; early development focused on birth through five years of age; and a five-part series focused on self-esteem and self-control as they relate to bringing out the best in children

Enhanced strategic partnerships with large initiatives and organizations, such as Boston Public Schools’ “Parent University” and the City of Cambridge’s “Baby U,” which is a program that guides low-income parents through the rigors of early child rearing to ensure that their children are prepared, both intellectually and socially, to enter kindergarten on even footing with other children

Completion of a strategic plan update whose direction includes a major component tied to significantly enhancing the organization’s evaluation capability

Launching of a new website
- Presentations at state and national conferences, sponsored by organizations such as the Children’s Trust Fund, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Massachusetts Alliance for Teen Pregnancy
