2011 Fathers' Breakfast

On October 21, over 200 fathers gathered for the 10th Annual Fathers' Breakfast at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston. Thanks to the hard work of the committee, corporate sponsors, table captains, and attendees, more than $108,000 has been raised so far from this event for Families First! Event Co-Chair John DeVoy presented Dick Hoyt, marathon runner and father, with the Friend of the Family Award for his lifetime of exemplifying hope and inspiration as a father. Upon accepting the award, Hoyt shared, “Parenting is stressful, no matter who the child is and who the parent is. We all need support. Do what you can to find the time to just be with your children, playing ball or reading. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or elaborate; just spending time with them shows them you care.”

The funds raised at the Fathers’ Breakfast will have an impact on over 4,000 families in over 50 Massachusetts communities by providing free first-rate parenting programs at homeless shelters, hospitals, daycare centers, schools, and other organizations that help at-risk, low-income parents.
